THE Namibian Police in Oshikoto Region has confiscated 300 cartons of Yes cigarettes, valued at N$60 000 that were found in a truck that belongs to Formula Courier Service.
According to NamPol’s regional spokesperson Ellen Nehale, the 48-year-old driver was arrested at the Oshivelo Police checkpoint.
“We received a tip-off about the illegal cigarettes in the truck and the contraband was found during a search of the vehicle that was conducted at the checkpoint,” she said.
Nehale noted that the suspect face charges related to the contravention of articles of the Customs and Excise Act.
