NAMIBIAN-born rugby player Jaythen Orange has been selected for the South African Under-20 Springbok squad, marking a major milestone in his rising career and earning praise from his former schools in Windhoek.

Orange, who plays in the lock position, has been included in the final squad ahead of the third edition of the SANZAAR U/20 Rugby Championship, set to kick off on 27 April 2026.

Both Windhoek High School (WHS) and Orban Primary School congratulated their former learner, highlighting his dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport.

“From our classrooms to the international stage — what a moment,” WHS said in a message, expressing pride in Orange’s achievement and backing him as he embarks on the international journey.

Orban Primary School also extended its congratulations, wishing him success as he represents South Africa at junior international level.

Orange, currently playing for the University of Johannesburg (UJ), made his debut during the 2026 Young Guns campaign before being promoted to the first team. He went on to finish the senior season as a semifinalist, underlining his rapid progression in the sport.

His selection to the U/20 Springbok squad is seen as a significant achievement and a testament to his development, as he prepares to compete on the international stage.
