Africa-Press – Namibia. KASAONA Football Academy finished their MTC Hopsol Youth Football u17 league campaign in style with a 6-0 victory against DSSW on Saturday.

The win saw them finishing on top of Group B and comfortably through to the quarterfinals which take place next weekend.

Kasaona got off to a great start with a goal by winger Puna Katjimune within the first minute, while striker Luciano Topnaar made it 2-0 barely five minutes later.

Kasaona dominated possession and after several more chances went astray, Topnaar scored his second, tapping in a cross by Marukujani Ngaahue just before half time.

Kasaona continued to set the pace after the break and went 4-0 ahead after a great strike by Katjimune from the edge of the box.

Katjimune, who had a great game, then turned provider, setting Carlito Pienaar up after a fine run, to stretch their lead to 5-0.

In the closing stages, defender Vitjituaije Mujoro also got on the scoresheet when his rather tame shot somehow slipped under DSSW’s keeper and into the net.

The victory saw Kasaona FA finishing their league campaign on top of Group B with 40 points from 16 matches, while ACFA B finished second on 37 points.

DTS and Riverheights FA booked the final two knockout spots in Group B after finishing on 35 and 30 points respectively.

Before the weekend’s matches, Swallows were still in the running to make the qualifiers, but a 2-0 defeat to ACFA B put paid to their chances.

ACFA A meanwhile, comfortably won Group A after finishing their 16 matches on 39 points.

SKW finished second 10 points behind, while Ramblers (28) and Baller Boys (24) clinched the final two knockout spots.
