Africa-Press – Namibia. LANDLESS Peoples Movement (LPM) councillor McDonald Hanse has retained his position as mayor of Keetmanshoop, while LPM councillor Easter Isaak was elected deputy mayor.
Isaak was previously the chairperson of the management committee, while the deputy mayor portfolio was vacant since the recall of Charlcyta Cooper in June.
They were sworn in on Wednesday.
New LPM councillor Johannes Vries will now serve as chairperson of the management committee, and LPM councillors Annelize Knowds and Fatima Jossob were re-elected to the management committee.
Swapo members Gaudentia Krohne and Johannes Nghidinwa remain ordinary council members.
