Africa-Press – Namibia. THE chief executive officer of the Khorixas Town Council, Andreas /Howoseb, on Thursday said N$54 million is owed to NamWater.
According to /Howoseb, this is due to residents being slow to honour their obligations to pay their water bills.
The Khorixas Town Council provides water on a cost recovery basis to residents.
“Residents pay the town council and then we pay it over to NamWater.
“The debt owed to NamWater increased after the town provided water to marginalised members of the community.
“This affected the council in terms of funding,” /Howoseb said.
