Africa-Press – Namibia. Police in the Oshikoto region have reported an incident in which a man died after being run over by a train.
The incident happened on Thursday, February 16, at around 23h00 at Oshifukwa village.
“The driver of a Transnamib train, number 2214, was driving to Ondangwa when the train drove over a pedestrian who was allegedly sleeping on the rails. The deceased died on the spot. The deceased was a male aged between 30 and 40 years of age. He was wearing a blue jersey and blue trousers and his body was transported to the Omuthiya police mortuary. His next of kin have not been in formed yet,” said Oshikoto police regional commander deputy commissioner Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku.
