Mariental Nursing Post Interviews Halted Amid Investigation

Africa-Press – Namibia. Hardap governor Riaan McNab says the recruitment of nurses for the region’s health directorate has been suspended amid allegations of tribalism.

McNab in a media statement issued on Wednesday said he was alerted that the community had raised concerns about alleged tribalism.

He confirmed he contacted the Ministry of Health and Social Services about the issue.

McNab assured that if the claims are substantiated and procedures are found to have been disregarded, the irregularities will be urgently addressed in line with established processes.

“Namibia is a country where all people, regardless of tribe or ethnicity, enjoy equality. I urge the public to allow the investigation to proceed without prejudice to establish the truth,” McNab said.

Heath ministry spokesperson Walters Kamaya has confirmed the cancellation of the interview process.

“This is a subject under investigation and might require more time to establish the facts.”
