Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Ministry of Information and Communication Technology embarked on a regional tour to conduct digital literacy training programs.
As part of the Ministry’s nationwide efforts to introduce digital literacy initiatives, the two-week training program aimed to disseminate essential digital literacy skills.
Award ceremonies were held in Kalkveld, Omaruru, Katima Mulilo, and Okatyali regions that benefited from the Ministry’s digital literacy training programs to recognize the participants’ achievements.
During one of the award ceremonies, ICT Deputy Minister Hon. Emma Theofelus emphasized the importance of exploring current practices that connect digitalization with relevant issues concerning young people.
“With this training, we expect the trainees to become digital champions and assist us in preparing Namibians for e-government services and the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” she added.
Certificates of completion were presented to over 200 participants, and the national implementation of the digital literacy training program is expected to continue during the current financial year.
The ministry said that several training programs funded by this initiative received support from Estonia’s E-Governance Academy through the African Union-European Union Digital for Development Hub, specifically the E-Government Academy.
