Africa-Press – Namibia. PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation, Yury Trutnev, have reiterated their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Namibia and Russia.

This commitment was expressed during a recent courtesy meeting that focused on identifying key areas for strategic collaboration between the two countries.

“The meeting focused on economic cooperation, energy security, and education, with an emphasis on resource beneficiation to ensure Namibia maximizes economic benefits from its raw materials,” the Namibian Presidency explained.

The presidency also revealed that President Nandi-Ndaitwah stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations that promote sustainable development, with the Intergovernmental Commission being pivotal in addressing national priorities such as poverty alleviation and youth unemployment.

“Discussions also highlighted skills development and education, recognizing the growing number of Namibian students in Russia and the need to expand training in key sectors,” the Namibian Presidency added.
