According to Audrin Mathe, the Executive Director of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, governance and strategic foresight in the digital realm are not just options but imperatives for their development.
Hence, by crafting a focused vision for their digital future, they are laying the groundwork to leverage digitalization for prosperity. Mathe emphasized the essence of the National Digital Strategy lies in its vision and mission, articulating the dream for Namibia’s digital transformation.
“This strategy delves deep into understanding our transformation into a society that is not only digitally literate but also innovative and inclusive. Central to this transformative journey are strategically chosen pillars, critical in maximizing impact and fostering comprehensive digital development across Namibia’s various sectors and geographical landscapes,” he said.
He added that in developing this strategy, they have endeavoured to be sober but ambitious, practical but bold, and play to their strengths to propel the pace of digital advancement in Namibia.
Further, Mathe indicated that the government is committed to achieving a digital future.
