Africa-Press – Namibia. THREE Namibian shooting teams have been selected to compete in South Africa, following a regional competition at Stampriet at the beginning of June.
The teams, which will compete in George from 14 to 18 September, are the Namibian national team, the Namibian Presidential team, and a .222/.223 team.
The Namibian national team:
Francois Marais, Luandre Benade, Morne Louw, Strydom van der Wath, Michael Barlow and Francois Marais senior.
The Namibian President’s team:
Basjan van der Merwe, Wilhelm Loubser, Marius Louw, Hermanus du Toit, Bradley Jarman, Johannes Marais and Stefan Louw.
The .222/.223 team:
Francois Marais senior, Francois Marais junior, Johannes Marais, Tabby Barnard, Johan Wessels, Strydom van der Wath, Ferdinand Schnaitmann.
The Stampriet competition was held at Wathy van der Walt’s Zonnewaldt farm, and consisted of a Top 30 competition on 3 June and an Open competition the following day.
The winners in the various classes were as follows:
Penkoppe: Daniel Kotze, Vincent Maresch, Nicolaas Mostert.
Juniors: Jannie Booysen junior, Luan Oosthuizen, Heinrich Kotze.
Veterans: Francois Blaauw, JWF Kannemeyer, Gerald Knoetze.
Seniors: Francois Marais senior, Johannes van der Wath, WP Barnard.
Women: Bets-Marie Coetzee, Karola Marais, Silke Grobler.
Men: Francois Marais senior, Marius Louw, Michael Barlow.
Bronze: Andre van der Merwe, Arther Simon, Kobus Brand.
Silver: Gertjan Coetzee, Alwin Louw, Sebastiaan van der Merwe.
