Africa-Press – Namibia. NAMIBIA has recorded 970 new Covid-19 infections, 88 reinfections, 26 recoveries, and one death linked to the virus.
This was announced by minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula on Saturday. “Four cases have received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, 18 cases have been fully vaccinated, and 948 (97,7%) of the new cases are unvaccinated,” Shangula said.
The positivity rate for Namibia stands at 35,2%. The total of 1 058 infections include 56 pupils from different schools, 33 healthcare workers, 12 students, and five teachers.
Shangula said 189 people are currently hospitalised due to Covid-19, with 15 in intensive care units. Namibia’s current Covid-19 figures are: Confirmed cases: 136 921 Recoveries: 126 314 Active cases: 7 132 Deaths: 3 581 Fully vaccinated individuals: 334 704
