Nampol will not tolerate criminal behaviour, Major General Mutota warns

Africa-Press – Namibia. The Deputy General of the Namibian Police Force (Nampol), Major General Elifas Mutota, said that Nampol will not tolerate criminals, and that it will bring the fight to the doorsteps of those engaging in criminal activities.

Mutota said that the Namibian Police Force, through its unwavering commitment, will provide safety and security to the members of the public during the festive season and beyond.

He indicated that as many people will be travelling to and from different parts of the country, the prevalence of crime and road accidents are higher. At the same time, he requested road users to ensure that they prepare before partaking in their journeys.

He made these remarks while sharing community safety and crime prevention tips aimed at reducing and/or preventing crime amidst the fast-approaching festive season.

“When we are going away, ask a trusted neighbour, a relative or a friend to check on your property daily while you’re away,” said Mutota.

Mutota also pleaded with the nation to hand in firearms and ammunition to a local police station for safekeeping, adding that serious tackling of crime requires joint efforts.
