Africa-Press – Namibia. Businesswoman and member of the Swapo central committee, Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun on Saturday donated food items to elders at Groot Aub settlement.
Namundjebo-Tilahun handed over bags of maize meal, rice, cooking oil and condiments worth N$10 000.
Most beneficiaries were those who attended an event to celebrate the election of Swapo Windhoek rural district coordinator John Elago to the party’s central committee.
She told The Namibian that it is a cultural practice for her to share with others.
“My heart is close to the elders and the youth. So, I felt like I cannot just come without giving anything. For them to come here is a commitment and that does not mean they have the means to get here,” she said while encouraging the culture of sharing. “If we can afford to give what we can, it is very important. We have to give back.”
