Africa-Press – Namibia. The Namibia Water Corporation’s (NamWater) Khomas Maintenance Team recently conducted a sluice gate operation test at the Von Bach Dam. NamWater explained that this is an annual test carried out ahead of the rainy season. According to the corporation, the exercise is vital to ensure the gates are fully operational should it become necessary to release stormwater. This is essential for protecting communities, preventing damage to infrastructure, and reducing the risk of flooding.
