Nandi-Ndaitwah Urges Service Delivery from Sectors

Africa-Press – Namibia. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on both the public and private sectors to move from talk to action, saying Namibia’s development goals can only be achieved through decisive and coordinated implementation.

Speaking at the closing of the inaugural Namibia Public-Private Forum in Windhoek on Friday, Nandi-Ndaitwah urged participants to turn the commitments made during the two-day event, held from 23 to 24 October, into tangible results for citizens.

“We have talked enough; now is the time for action. To build on this momentum. We now need to develop the character and the collective discipline to achieve what we have gathered here to discuss,” she said.

She emphasised that progress requires more than good ideas – it demands consistency, humility, and follow-through.

“We must stay focused on our shared goals and deliver on our promises. The time for talk is over; this is the moment to translate plans into measurable action that improves lives,” the president said.

She explained that her administration has already set out directives currently underway in various sectors.

These actions include a directive to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform to enhance its plant health capacity before the end of the financial year by deploying specialised skills to address emerging phytosanitary challenges.

Another directive, she said, is to expedite the establishment of a structure to begin implementing the Transformation of the Agri-Food Sector plan, which identifies priority investment areas and clarifies stakeholder roles, by December.

Other directives, Nandi-Ndaitwah added, include the enactment of the migration bill before the end of the financial year, infrastructure upgrades at Hosea Kutako International Airport and the review of Namibia’s visa regime.

She said serious investors should be given five-year permits, among other measures.

“The Namibian government is poised to implement a series of tax reforms designed to bolster both competitiveness and fairness within the economy,” she said.

Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasised that her vision is to create an environment that makes doing business in Namibia simple and efficient.

“My vision is clear and that is to make doing business in Namibia simple, seamless, swift, accessible, and integrated. I want it to be an enabling, one-stop experience and one that becomes an incentive in itself to invest and innovate in Namibia,” she added.
