THE country’s national parks generated a total of N$183 million from entrance and conservation fees over the past year.
“Our national parks brought in a total of N$183 million from entrance and conservation fees. Conservancies earned a total of N$109 million in 2025 through joint ventures, concessions, and conservation hunting,” President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah revealed.
She made these remarks during her State of the Nation Address (SONA), emphasising that tourism positions the country as a top destination, which is why the government prioritises the sector. This, she added, includes infrastructure development and upgrades.
The President also reported that staff housing and offices at Hardap Game Park, Namutoni, Keetmanshoop, and Daan Viljoen Game Park have been renovated at a cost of N$4.4 million. She added that 183 km of fencing at Etosha National Park has been upgraded, with an additional 15 km and 13 km of Mahango fence completed.
“This is aimed at improving tourism infrastructure, conservation efforts, and wildlife management, while reducing human-wildlife conflict and promoting biodiversity conservation,” President Nandi-Ndaitwah added.
