Africa-Press – Namibia. INVESTING in education remains critical in the life of a Namibian child.

Thus, Usko Nghaamwa, a former governor of Ohangwena, donated N$300,000, which will be equally used to purchase a school bus and a dining hall for the school hostel.

Nghaamwa presented the donation on Friday during the renaming of the school and explained that he was merely assisting a young Namibian.

“To ensure that our children receive an education, we must contribute to education and meet government obligations,” he said.

Nghaamwa indicated that he is not doing this because he has all the money, but because he understands the value of education.

School principal George Nanghanda said although they have achieved much with their hostel, learners are still in dire need of a dining hall.

Although Nghaamwa has already donated 36,000 bricks and mobilized through Rani Traders 3,000 bags of cement for the purpose of ensuring their school reached its goal, he continues to extend his help to needy people.

Nanghanda indicated that the school is also allocated 90,645 square metres of land for further expansion and development of the school by the Ohangwena Regional Council.

“50% of this piece of land is not fenced off as of yet, meaning it is still outside the school fence,” he said.

He then requested the directorate of education to assist them in meeting the school’s half.
