Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy has dismissed circulating rumours of a fuel shortage in Namibia, assuring the public that the country has sufficient fuel supplies and that no rationing measures have been introduced.

In a statement, the Ministry said Namibia remains adequately supplied with both diesel and petrol to meet national demand in the short, medium, and long term.

The Ministry added that government continues to work closely with fuel importers and retailers to ensure stable supply and safeguard energy security across the country.

Authorities further confirmed that there is no need for fuel rationing, urging fuel retailers to continue operating as normal.

The Ministry emphasised that it is in constant communication with industry stakeholders and is monitoring stock levels to ensure continued availability.

Members of the public were also cautioned against spreading false or misleading information, warning that such rumours could cause unnecessary panic.

The Ministry said it will keep the public informed should there be any changes regarding fuel supply in the country.
