Africa-Press – Namibia. AS part of equipping journalists with the knowledge of how Bank of Namibia operates, a two-day training is underway for the northern journalists at their Oshakati branch in the Oshana Region.

The training, which is being held for the second time, was first conducted in Swakopmund in the Erongo Region. However, this is the first time the training is being held in the northern part of the country. It is being held at Oshakati with the aim of equipping journalists on how the bank operates.

Branch Manager Moudi Hangula said that this was deliberately done to demonstrate their continued efforts to foster a stronger relationship between the Central Bank and the media, as well as to promote transparency and open dialogue country-wide.

Hangula indicated, “As a Central Bank, we have always been committed to fostering a stable and prosperous economic environment. We believe that a well-informed public is crucial for the successful implementation of our policies and initiatives.”

She added that during this workshop, they aim to provide journalists with insight into their current operations, share key developments, and offer clarity on their monetary and financial stability objectives.

Hangula emphasized that economic reporting serves as a critical tool for understanding the complexities surrounding both the domestic and global economy. In this regard, she said that it is relevant, especially in the face of technological advancements and global challenges.
