THE northern regions are experiencing moderate to heavy showers since last weekend, bringing relief to subsistence farmers while increasing the risks to travellers and residents of flood-prone areas.
However, while some water pans and iishana (shallow water channels) in the Cuvelai catchment area are full and overflowing their banks, others in the same area are still empty.
That is the case in the Ohangwena Region. The water channels at Endola village and the surrounding areas are still dry, but the situation is completely different at the nearby Oshitambi and Okahenge villages, where water channels are overflowing.
