Africa-Press – Namibia. POLICE Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga has appointed special reserve force head commissioner Naftal Sakaria as Oshana police regional commander.
Sakaria, who joined the police in 1996 takes over from commissioner Rauha Amwele, who retires at the end of July 2022.
Ndeitunga also appointed commissioner Teopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku as new commander for Oshikoto region.
Kampolo-Nashikaku replaces Oshikoto regional commander Armas Shivute, who retires this month.
Both appointments are effective 1 August 2022.
Ndeitunga also promoted long serving officer Lavinia Shaxula as the principal staff officer in his office.
Shaxula takes over from commissioner John Alweendo who has retired.
The appointments follow Ndeitunga’s appointment of commissioner Julia Sakuwa as the new commander for Kavango West.
Sikuwa replaced commissioner Josephat Abel who retired at the end of last month.
Sakuwa was transferred from Oshikoto region where she was a commissioner for administration.
