Africa-Press – Namibia. ON Thursday, the Swapo party held a groundbreaking ceremony at its Oshana office to begin building a hall.
The cost of constructing the hall is predicted to be N$2.5 million, and the construction will take three years to complete.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa said that Swapo will always remain steadfast, no matter the cost.
According to Shaningwa, the construction of the hall demonstrates that the party has indeed progressed from operating without sufficient infrastructure and under a tree.
“We spent far too much time working under trees; it’s only fitting that we now have adequate infrastructure,” she said.
Shaningwa added that future generations will also benefit from this.
