OTIE aligns with government’s vision, says Governor Irimari

Africa-Press – Namibia. A TRADE exhibition is much more than a showcasing of products and services. It is a platform for businesses to network, collaborate, and establish partnerships, said Elia Irimari, the governor of the Oshana Region, during the official opening of the 11th edition of the Ondangwa Trade and Industrial Exhibition (OTIE) on Thursday.

Irimari said that since its inception in 2011, the Ondangwa Expo has grown to be a significant event in the region.

“The Ondangwa Trade Fair and Expo,” he said, “is much more than the showcasing of products and services. It is a platform for businesses to network, collaborate, and establish partnerships. It is a platform for innovation, where new ideas and solutions are shared. It is a platform for economic growth, where businesses can expand their client base and increase their market presence.”

Governor Irimari further said that it’s the Government’s vision to create a vibrant and sustainable local economy that provides opportunities for all. “The Ondangwa Trade Fair and Expo aligns perfectly with this vision. It provides a stage for our local businesses to shine, to demonstrate their capabilities, and to connect with potential customers,” he said.

According to him, the Ondangwa Expo can play a crucial role in driving the town’s and the region’s economy forward, helping to attract much-needed investments, stimulate growth, and create jobs.

“But this can only happen if we, as a region, embrace it, support it, and use it to its full potential.”

The OTIE 2024 edition, which kicked off at the OTIE Centre on Tuesday and was officially opened by the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, on Thursday, lasts till Saturday.
