Africa-Press – Namibia. PARTS of the vehicle that was stolen during an attack on a 73-year-old doctor in Swakopmund, were found 9 km from Walvis Bay on the road to the airport this morning.

According to Erongo police inspector Ileni Shapumba, Dr. Sean de Jager’s stolen red VW Polo Vivo, registration N1198R, was stripped and some of the parts were dumped in the middle of and alongside the road.

“We urge anyone who has information that will lead to the identification of the person or driver who disposed of these parts, as well as anyone who has bought second-hand parts, to contact investigating officers Detective Chief Inspector Johannes Mwatongwe on 081 246 1121 or Detective Inspector Johan Geiseb on 081 262 9842,” Shapumba said.

The police suspect De Jager’s attackers, Andreas David Gliso and Kleopas Vetso, are or were hiding in Swakopmund or Walvis Bay up until now. The two men attacked De Jager in his house in Swakopmund’s Matutura location on Tuesday, 26 October, around 2:30. The elderly man was seriously injured in the assault, and robbed of valuables. Gliso and Vetso are still missing.
