Africa-Press – Namibia. MESSAGES of condolences continue to pour in from all corners of the regions to Namibian President Hage Geingob, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 82.
Oshikoto regional governor Penda Ya Ndakolo has joined the rest of the country in expressing condolences to former First Lady Madam Monica Geingos.
Ya Ndakolo said that the Namibian nation woke up to a dark cloud, a heavy loss, and a sad chapter in Namibian history on Sunday, and they are saddened by the loss of the President.
According to Ya Ndakolo, President Geingob was a born leader, a valiant leader, a highly respected leader, and a wise man who was a true pioneer in the cause of independence. He was also a tireless fighter who dedicated his life and work to the people of the nation.
“It was indeed a privilege to serve under President Geingob in my capacity as Minister of Defence and now as the Regional Governor of Oshikoto Region,” he said.
He added that they deeply appreciate and commemorate President Geingob’s contribution to the country.
Ya Ndakolo indicated that on behalf of the residents of the Oshikoto Region, the leadership, and indeed on his own behalf, he would like to extend his deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to First Lady Madam Monica Geingos, the entire family, friends, the Government, and the people of Namibia on the passing of President Geingob.
“To the bereaved family and the entire Namibian Nation, may the Lord be our shield and comfort us all in these difficult times, and may He give us all the patience to cope with this sad loss,” he concluded.
