Africa-Press – Namibia. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah received a courtesy call from Mr. Chido Munyati, Head of Africa and Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum (WEF).

During the engagement, the President and Mr. Munyati discussed preparations for this year’s Forum and President Nandi-Ndaitwah was briefed on its key thematic areas, which include tourism, trade, and energy.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized the importance of transitioning from dialogue to tangible action. “We have engaged in numerous dialogues and invested significantly in these discussions, it is now time to move forward with implementation,” President Nandi-Ndaitwah stated.

Mr. Munyati also extended an invitation to Her Excellency to attend the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.

The invitation aims to provide a platform for President Nandi-Ndaitwah to articulate investment opportunities in Namibia particularly in the critical minerals sector, the emerging oil and gas industry, and uranium development, where Namibia is increasingly positioning itself as a global player.

The meeting also comes at a time when Namibia continues to gain global recognition for its commitment to inclusive development.

Namibia ranks 8th globally and 1st in Africa in the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Global Gender Gap Report.

The report, which was also presented to Her Excellency, measures gender parity across political empowerment, education, health, and economic participation, praised Namibia’s progress, particularly its sustained efforts to promote gender equality and women’s representation in leadership.
