Africa-Press – Namibia. A NUMBER of influential Lutheran clerics are preparing to deliver impactful sermons and speeches at a “psycho-social crusade” to take place at the Onankali parish in the Oshikoto Region early next month.

The unique one-day event, organised by a group known as “Let’s fight the good fight” under the leadership of reverend Asser Shivute, is a crusade meant to serve as counselling for those affected by a variety of problems, including people who lost loved ones due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.

A press release issued by event organisers says that prominent clerics of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) will deliver speeches on a wide range of topical issues.

Reverend Shivute, the host, will talk about forgiveness and peace and reverend Thomas Uushona will tackle the question “where is God when it hurts?” Reverend Valimo Kandjala will deliver a speech on suicide, while reverend Martha Shihomeka takes on human-human relations.

“We know the past but not the future” is the topic allotted to reverend Nambili Namutewa.

Besides speeches, sermons and intercessory prayers, individual counselling will be available to those who need it. The dress code for the event is black, white or red.
