THE Agricultural Bank of Namibia (Agribank) has appointed Robert Eiman as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 July 2026, as the institution prepares for a new phase of growth and transformation.
Eiman succeeds Dr Raphael Karuaihe, who retired on 31 March 2026 after serving the Bank. In the interim, Chief Financial Officer Abel Akayombokwa has been appointed Acting CEO until 30 June 2026.
Eiman brings extensive experience in microfinance, commercial, corporate and development banking, as well as expertise in structuring large-scale deals, strategy development and implementation. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics in the Netherlands.
He joins Agribank from Nampost Financial Brokers (POSTFIN), where he served as CEO, and has previously held senior roles at the Development Bank of Namibia and First National Bank of Namibia.
The Board expressed confidence that Eiman’s leadership, strategic insight and financial expertise will guide the Bank through its ongoing transformation, particularly as it responds to economic challenges, climate change, low agricultural productivity and fragmented value chains.
The Board also thanked outgoing CEO Dr Karuaihe for his leadership and contribution to the Bank during his tenure.
Eiman said he is honoured to take up the role and looks forward to building on the Bank’s foundation while steering it towards long-term sustainable growth and contributing to the transformation of Namibia’s agricultural sector.
