Africa-Press – Namibia. THE 15th World Esports Championships 2023 will be hosted in Lai, Romania, the International Esports Federation [IESF] has announced.
According to IESF, it is estimated that the 15th WEC will attract about 800 athletes from estimated 130 countries.
In a press statement by the Namibian Electronic Sports Association (NESA), it was established that IESF’s 14th World Esports Championships [WEC] held in Bali, Indonesia, from the 1st to the 12th of December 2022 was a lauded a success when more than 600 players from 105 countries participated across 6 game titles namely: CS: GO, DotA2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, eFootball 2023, Tekken 7 and PUBG Mobile, to which the Namibian female CS: GO team was placed 4th on the leader boards.
NESA is now eagerly heading into the new season of esports, and together with their leading ISP partner MTC, are gearing up for another successful esports year to adapt and conduct the national qualifiers for the Namibian Esports Team selections in February, armed with the following game titles: CS: GO, DotA2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, eFootball 2023, Tekken 7 and PUBG Mobile.
All qualifiers are set to be held in the MTC Play zone in Maerua Mall.
