Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Rosh Pinah to Oranjemund road (MR118) has been closed with immediate effect until further notice, the Roads Authority said in a media statement.
This is a precautionary measure due to the rising water levels of the Orange River, however, access to the route will be provided to emergency service vehicles.
Road users are being advised to use the Oranjemund-Luderitz route in the interim, however this road will only be open to the public between 06h00 and 15h00 daily.
“Thus, motorists are kindly requested to plan their journeys accordingly, exercise extreme caution when travelling on this route and to strictly adhere to the road signs,” said the Roads Authority.
The organisation will issue an update as soon as the road reopens.
