Africa-Press – Namibia. MINISTER of agriculture, water and land reform Calle Schlettwein has taken to Twitter to support the destruction of counterfeit goods imported into the country.
His sentiments come after the Namibia Revenue Agency last week burned counterfeit goods shipped into the country in recent years.
“ . . . regardless of who is doing it and where it is done,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
Schlettwein believes the law must prevail and the police have a duty to ensure this.
“Members of parliament took an oath to protect the law, not to propagate breaking it. One can only be astounded,” he said.
Schlettwein was referring to NEFF head Epafras Mukwiilongo, who is a member of parliament and has been charged with incitement to commit an offence and public violence.
