Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Seawork Cares Foundation has collected 550 schoolbags for Namibian pupils throught its Donate-A-Bag project.

The project aims to demonstrate that someone is proud of the pupils’ achievements, and was launched in 2019.

It could, however, not proceed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Marmer Primary School at Aus recently received 208 schoolbags.

The pupils of Cocoma Primary School at Rundu are to receive 212 bags next year.

The project has identified schools in desolate areas with little community support.

“Seawork Fish Processors has always been the biggest sponsor. We have access to a large network of companies, which have become dedicated co-sponsors.

“In 2020, we took to social media and reached out to other sponsors for 2021,” says project coordinator Annie Theron.

Namibians are urged to make donations at Seawork outlets in Windhoek and Walvis Bay.
