Seibeb and Isaaks’ resignation an irreversible joy – LPM states

Africa-Press – Namibia. “IT comes with great excitement and irreversible joy that we, as the Landless People’s Movement, accept the street resignation, in typical reckless and stunted form, of the LPM members Henny Seibeb and Edson Isaaks, from the National Assembly and the Party. As it stands, they have avoided informing the party of their resignation and have concluded they prefer to use the immature route of posting on their statuses and avoiding communication with party structures. However, if we are to accept the notion of the street resignation, as a gallant Party of sensible beings and thoughtful characters, we are deeply celebratory and exceedingly elated with the immediate departure of these two unwanted personalities.”

These are the sentiments of the spokesperson of the Landless People’s Movement, Lifalaza Simataa, in reaction to the resignation of party members Henny Seibeb and Edson Isaaks. Seibeb, upon being informed that he had been replaced as the party’s chief whip in parliament, tendered his immediate resignation, which caught the party off guard. Thereafter, fellow party member Isaaks also resigned.

Simataa explained that the duo, after extended hunting excursions at the Isaaks’ farm, obtained political oxygen from the revolutionary events instrumentalized by Bernadus Swartbooi, raising the land justice question in public, leading to the eventual creation of LPM.

“Seibeb, whose only life’s highlight was an assistant job at Ithana’s office, could never adjust to the leadership mantle of such an elevated scope: his moral and emotional senses were at all times disoriented, and he never understood what it took to lead. Isaaks, whose presence in the National Assembly resembled his entire being: invisible and inconsequential, became a disciple of Seibeb. Together, these two characters set out to abuse every space of leadership, engaging in ill-disciplined and anti-revolutionary behaviour. Soon, they became notorious as unable to lead and lacking focus to help move the Party forward. There was a lack of alignment between the party and those individuals,” Simataa opined.

He added that while the party prided itself on values of dignity, truth, honesty, and championing the youth, these individuals unfortunately failed to embody these values.

“While the party champions youth in leadership positions, Seibeb actively and publicly de-campaigned the youth, expressing they shouldn’t be in leadership positions. His conduct within the media was an attempt to fragment the party by sowing seeds of factions and camps by spreading lies, a dishonest rhetoric, and misrepresenting the identity of the party. However, he failed in that mission, as the party has actively shown that it has grown and continued to function. In fact, this Party never needed the likes of Seibeb. His media-hungry, attention-seeking personality demanded that the Party even had to defend his male organ while the Party Leader was in Angola,” Simataa said.

He added that therefore the LPM will breathe exceedingly lighter, knowing that the conduct of Seibeb will no longer be a burden to the party.
