Africa-Press – Namibia. THE Southern Stream First Division’s ordinary members meeting held in Windhoek on Saturday unanimously re-endorsed the league’s activity plan, which was approved at its annual general meeting in November.
This means the second-tier stream will be in recess until early March, says SSFD spokesperson Rhonie Garoeb.
“The league has successfully completed its first-leg activities, whereas a total of 66 matches were played with 200 goals (scored). We’re expecting more goals when the league resumes with the second leg,” he says.
“. . . the league will resume with its second-leg league activities on the weekend of 4 to 5 March. The only activity which will not take place is the famous MTC NFA Cup,” Garoeb says.
The process to launch SSFD TV and become the first Namibia Football Association member to broadcast its league activities is at an advanced stage.
“Hence we urge the public to follow us on social platforms,” Garoeb says.
Furthermore, the SSFD “is appealing to corporates who want to partner with this vibrant brand as the league is in need of league cup competition”.
