Africa-Press – Namibia. Swapo president Hage Geingob today appeared unimpressed with the lack of fire displayed by the party’s central committee (CC) members.
Geingob was especially disturbed by the way CC members were singing party songs before he opened the body’s meeting in Windhoek this morning. As the members sluggishly attempted to sing a song praising Geingob, the president was seen shaking his head in disapproval and later said: “This is not Swapo.”
He later told the members to sit down. “Sit down or whatever. Sing or don’t sing,” Geingob said. Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa urged members to keep singing.
