Africa-Press – Namibia. Titans Handball Club won the Redzone Handball Clash that was held at UN Plaza on Saturday.
Titans beat City Pillars 12-8 in the final, but despite the defeat City Pillars had the consolation of winning the Team of the Tournament award.
In the semifinals Titans beat Central 12-8 while City Pillars beat Swallows 12-10.
In the group stages, Titans beat City Pillars 12-6, and Central 16-8, but were held to a 8-8 draw by Swallows; while City Pillars beat Central 10-2, and the Birds 9-6.
In other group matches, Swallows beat Birds 7-3 and Central 11-7.
Jacobus Stein of the Birds won the Most Valuable Player of the tournament award, while Immanuel Tobias won the Coach of the tournament award.
“Bank Windhoek donated N$5 000 for paying the venue and refreshments for the teams, while we also had to pay the referees,” tournament organiser Hermanus Naobeb said.
