THE annual Trustco Namibia Tennis Association (NTA) Junior Tennis Tournament 2022 will take place in Windhoek this weekend.

The event will be hosted at multiple venues to accommodate the high number of players expected to be part of the action which will be staged across the Police Club, Central Tennis Courts, DTS Courts, as well as SKW.

The play-offs and round robin matches will start at 14h00 tomorrow, with the semi-finals scheduled for 08h00 on Saturday, while the finals will take place at 11h00 at Central Tennis Courts.

Trustco has a long-standing and proud relationship with the NTA, and this junior tournament will serve as the introduction to the prestigious Trustco NTA Junior Masters 2022, set to be hosted in Windhoek in October.

Trustco spokesperson Neville Basson has reiterated the group’s support for the sport through its corporate social investment initiatives.

“Trustco has been a trusted partner of the NTA since 2015, supporting and making sure top-quality players come through the ranks,” he says.

”In conjunction with the NTA, we work to better the game of junior tennis in Namibia, and the idea of future international stars produced by our support to annual tournaments remains a tangible goal for us. We know this weekend will produce some scintillating tennis once again.”

The NTA’s chairman of junior tennis, Santie van der Walt, says: “We want to thank all parents and players in showing their collective commitment once again. You ensure that Namibian tennis stays close to the baseline of success.

“Trustco, thank you for your years of support. It is only through your long-standing commitment over the last seven years that junior tennis is within reach of the heights expected internationally. We foresee an exciting weekend of passion and grit from the players, eagerly supported by their enthusiastic parents.

“Sport enthusiasts and supporters are encouraged to come and support our junior players over the weekend. Your support remains invaluable to not only the growth of our young stars, but of the sport as a whole.”
