Africa-Press – Namibia. The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) on Tuesday announced the resignation of its executive for investment, François Van Schalkwyk, with effect from 31 July 2025.
NIPDB in a media statement said that after more than four years of service, Van Schalkwyk decided to pursue other interests and will be relocating to the United Kingdom.
During his tenure, Van Schalkwyk made a significant contribution to enhancing the operational efficiency of the NIPDB, particularly within the investment department.
“He laid a strong foundation for service excellence by building an agile, client-focused, and highly capable team, as well as establishing the necessary systems and processes that enable seamless investment attraction and promotion,” it said.
The statement further said Van Schalkwyk immersed himself fully in his role and championed Namibia’s potential as a premier investment destination with passion and dedication.
“As one of the NIPDB’s first employees, Van Schalkwyk played a central role in achieving key milestones from the inaugural ‘Invest in Namibia’ event to witnessing the implementation of the first investment project under NIPDB,” it added.
Van Schalkwyk was also instrumental in developing an investment framework that helped catalyse a significant increase in Foreign Direct Investment inflows into Namibia in collaboration with various ministries, offices, and agencies.
