Africa-Press – Namibia. POPULAR Democratic Movement (PDM) leader McHenry Venaani and a delegation on Sunday visited Ombandja chief Mathias Walaula at his palace near Okalongo.
The delegation took Walaula several presents. The PDM leader was accompanied by party member of parliament Johannes Martin and deputy secretary general Linus Tobias, among others.
They attended a Sunday church service at Okalongo. Venaani at the weekend said he was in the region to review government infrastructure. He said he also plans to visit the Oshana and Oshikoto regions.
Before he left the Omusati region, Venaani said he would visit flood-affected areas and government schools. He is also to visit Outapi where he is expected to meet with street vendors who were forcefully removed from the streets of the town by the police and a private security company in 2019.
Venaani said he spent his Saturday night at Uuvudhiya in the Oshana region assessing the government’s socio-economic infrastructure. He said the community of Uuvidhiya lacks a clinic and police station. The PDM leader is expected to pay the government garage as well as northern tannery at Ondangwa a visit.
