Africa-Press – Namibia. A TEAM consisting of officials from the Namibian Police and Walvis Bay municipality traffic division conducted a stop-and-search operation at Kuisebmond on Thursday.

Acting Erongo regional commander deputy commissioner Tobie Gerber said about 60 vehicles were stopped and searched in the eight hours during the Hokanam operation.

Several fines where issued, including five for driving without licences, four for driving with worn-out tyres and one each for driving with a broken lamp and driving without a personal authority licence, as well as driving without a number plate.

Police warned motorists not to take chances and to adhere to rules to avoid trouble with the law. More surprise operations will be carried out throughout December.
