Wantenaar breaks 200m breaststroke record

Africa-Press – Namibia. Ronan Wantenaar broke his own Namibian Open 200m breaststroke record at an international swimming meet in Paris on Friday evening.

Competing at the Giant Open Meet in Paris, Wantenaar finished fifth in the A final in a time of 2:15,27, which beat his previous Namibian record of 2:15,52.

The race was won by Marc Antoine of France in 2:10,84, with Ivo Kroes of The Netherlands coming second in 2:13,54 and Carl Aitkaci of France third in 2:15,04.

Wantenaar had earlier posted a time of 2:17,54 in his heat to qualify for the final.
