Water woes hit Eenhana town

Africa-Press – Namibia. Three locations in Eenhana have been without a reliable water supply since 23 August this year due to a NamWater pipe burst that has disrupted daily life in the town.

Eenhana mayor Omri-Onn Kavandje has however urged the community to remain calm, assuring residents NamWater, and the town council’s engineers and technicians, are working round the clock to rectify the situation.

“We understand the difficulties our people are going through due to this outage, but I want to assure everyone the matter is receiving urgent attention. Our water technicians are checking all the pipes to find a solution. We urge the community to remain patient while a lasting solution is being sought,” Kavandje said.

The mayor also noted that water levels at the town’s supply dam had also significantly dropped, affecting pressure of the flow to Edjonga and Tulipamwe townships.

“We cannot, however, tell the public when this issue will be resolved, but for long-term maintenance, council and NamWater will set up a gauge that will measure pressure from both sides,” Kavandje added.
