Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 1, Ahmed Garba, has held a strategic security meeting with tactical and intelligence commanders from Kano and Jigawa states following a spike in banditry in parts of Kano.

The meeting, which took place on November 25 at the Zone 1 Headquarters in Kano, focused on reviewing the recent incidents and mapping out a coordinated response.

According to a statement issued by the Zone’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Bashir Muhammad, the session was convened to strengthen security operations and protect communities affected by the growing threat.

Garba and the field commanders assessed ongoing deployments and agreed on additional measures to support security personnel already on the ground, including police officers from the Kano Command and military units stationed in the troubled areas.

The AIG reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to safeguarding lives and property.

He urged residents to work closely with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements or criminal activities.

Zone 1 assured the people of Kano and Jigawa of sustained efforts to restore peace and enhance overall security across the two states.
