Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Jigawa State governor, Umar Namadi, has presented N901 billion as the proposed budget for the 2026 fiscal year.
The budget, tagged “Budget of Innovation and Transformation for Greater Jigawa II,” is aimed at providing projects for the development of the state.
According to the governor, the total budget is N901,841,000,000, with capital expenditure of N693.4 billion (76.9 per cent) and recurrent expenditure of N208.4 billion.
Education and health received over N310 billion of the total budget estimate.
The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatim, assured of the Assembly’s commitment to ensure the speedy passage of the appropriation bill for the development of the state.
“The budget is comprehensive and people-focused. We’ll scrutinise it thoroughly to deliver swift passage for Jigawa’s brighter future,” he said.
He commended the executive for working closely with the State House of Assembly.
