Africa-Press – Nigeria. The incessant traffic congestion on the Kaduna–Abuja highway has become a source of hardship for motorists, many of whom are routinely left stranded for several hours.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the gridlock has become a recurring problem, particularly during festive periods, causing serious difficulties for commuters.
Some passengers said they spent between five and six hours on the road on a journey that averagely should take about two and a half hours.
The Managing Director of NAN, Malam Ali M. Ali, who was also caught in the traffic, urged the relevant authorities to act swiftly to clear the congestion.
He also called for lasting solutions to prevent such situations from recurring.
