Africa-Press – Nigeria. Governor Umo Eno of Akwa-Ibom says the state wants Godswill Akpabio to retain his position as Senate President come 2027.
Eno said this on Sunday during a Special Inter-denominational New Year’s Thanksgiving and Covenant Service in Uyo, the state capital.
The governor also said it is only the enemy of Akwa-Ibom that would not want Godswill Akpabio to be Senate President.
“We will pray and work hard that Akpabio’s colleagues will return him as the Senate President, so that Akwa Ibom will continue to occupy the number three seat in this country.
“We are clear on that. We are very clear and it is only an enemy of this state that will not want our son to be the number three citizen. But if you are an Akwa-Ibomite and the blood of this state runs in you, you would love to see our son there. You will support this dream.
“You will support this vision, and we are clear on that across party lines. And I’m sure we are clear on the fact that God should continue to lead this state through this our humble servant. I’m sure you are clear on that,” Governor Eno said.
