Super Eagles Coach Discusses Media Blackout Before Match

Africa-Press – Nigeria. Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has clarified the reasons behind the decision to restrict media access for three days leading up to Nigeria’s AFCON Round of 16 tie against Mozambique on Monday.

Chelle noted that he wanted his players to concentrate as the Super Eagles prepares for the important encounter against the Mambas.

Speaking during a press conference on Sunday, Chelle explained, “My job isn’t just to cut off the national team from the media. I’ve to take care of players and work.

“This’s because I want to let my team stay focused. We’ve a goal and we’ve an objective.

“If I open all the training sessions and then we lose, people will say, ‘I am crazy,’ he opens the door every time.”
