PDP Calls Court Order on National Convention False

Africa-Press – Nigeria. The Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Mrakpor, has warned that claims that there is a court injunction restraining the party from holding its national convention scheduled for March 29–30, 2026, in Abuja are false and misleading.

Mrakpor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), made this clarification amid growing speculation and circulating rumours suggesting that the convention may be stalled by legal challenges.

According to him, the party is fully prepared to proceed as planned without any legal hindrance, while he said all necessary arrangements for the convention remain intact.

The Delta PDP chairman urged all delegates from the state to disregard what he termed “rumour mongers” and ensure their full participation at the convention in Abuja.

He again described those spreading misinformation as enemies of the party, whose aim is to create confusion and undermine the PDP’s internal processes.

Mrakpor reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a successful and hitch-free convention, emphasizing that there is no court order stopping the exercise.

“Our convention will hold as scheduled. There is no court injunction. The claims are false and misleading,” Mrakpor assured.
