Africa-Press – Nigeria. Former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards, has tipped Spain to lift the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, the ex-England international said Spain has the strongest squad.
“I’d always back England, especially with the squad they’ve got,” Richards said when speaking about the team to win the World Cup.
“My only slight worry is the conditions. Playing in that kind of heat [is tough].
“Players from Spain, Italy, and France are used to better weather, so they might be better suited to the heat. If I had to choose one team to win it, I’d go with Spain.”
Spain are in Group H for the tournament, alongside Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay.
